He worked for WBZ-TV in Boston, Massachusetts. He was born on 24 December 1943 in Apple Creek, Ohio. He pursued his bachelor’s degree from Kent State University.
He received his master’s degree from the University of Vermont. WVNY hired him in 1969 as a sportscaster despite having no experience or education in broadcasting.
When his wife got pregnant, he took a higher-paying job at WJOY. He started to work for WGIR in Manchester, New Hampshire in 1972.
He joined WBZ in October 1976 where he succeeded Ken Beatrice as the host of Calling All Sports, a midnight program. In 1979, he joined WBZ-TV as a weekend sports anchor.
