Halfwait Release Lyric Video for "Stand Alone"

Publish date: 2024-05-02

If you love bands like Green Day, Blink 182, Nirvana, and Foo Fighters, you may love Halfwait! If you’re wondering who Halfwait is, they’re an Australian grunge/punk/rock band consisting of Jon Barca, Chris Tallon, and Nick Sero.

After forming in 2010, Halfwait are back at it again in 2018 with their latest single “Stand Alone”, off of their new album The Official, which will be released sometime in June. What we love about “Stand Alone” is its modern sound with a touch of 90’s rock.

With lyrics like, “Take it as you want / You went about it wrong / I’m not here alone / Just make it on your own,” and “There’s a devil lying somewhere in your soul,” we get the vibe that this is a track about wanting to simply be left alone. Because honestly, who needs or wants negative vibes in their life? You’re strong and don’t need to depend on another person to live your life to the fullest.

Although the video for “Stand Alone” is a lyric video, if you pay close attention, you’ll see a significant scene honoring Nirvana. The scene we’re talking about is at 2:22, where a bench is shown with writing on it with text like, “COME AS YOU ARE,” and “WE <3 YOU KURT,” on it.

If you want to see Halfwait on tour, you’re in luck! The band is planning to tour nationally for the rest of the year. So keep up with Halfwait on social media for more details! (Seen below.)
