DISCOVER: Gregor Coleman Dropped New Single "Over Me" This Week

Publish date: 2024-05-04

This week saw Gregor Coleman drop his second single, titled “Over Me”, and we love it a bit too much. The single release follows his debut track “Too Good To Me“, as well as his recent tour with Sam Callahan.

You might be aware of who he is as he was a contestant on the 14th series of The X Factor, where he made it to the Six Chair Challenge. However, it looks like he’s getting the last laugh as his fans are coming through for him. His tour with Sam Callahan sold well, with many people praising his gigs; not only that, but his debut single, “Too Good To Me” has almost 100,000 Spotify streams and counting, whilst the acoustic version of the song has also fared well, hitting over 65,000 Spotify streams. This just proves the mistake that Louis Walsh made and that believing in yourself will get you where you need to be. We can’t wait to watch Gregor Coleman continue to make music as he certainly has a bright future ahead of him.

The song starts off as a ballad before becoming more of a mainstream pop-ballad. It’s different to “Too Good To Me“, yet still with his sound, showing off his versatility. The start reminds us of him busking on the street, but he’s come a long way since then and he shows that in the song as it progresses – he includes a backing vocal, some synths, and an up-tempo rhythm which you wouldn’t expect considering the start of the song.

Vocally, Gregor Coleman proves his talent as he unlocks deep emotion and unleashes it to the listeners in this track. His withheld throughout most of it, giving us more of an Ed Sheeran style rather than the Shawn Mendes style of his previous song. Lyrics-wise, this song is going to connect with a whole array of listeners, as this British male artist sings about a woman who gets all the boys and how he is one of them after he has had something to drink.
